I have been looking for this product for some time to use on my boat for email, navigation and occaisional browsing. I needed Windows XP as my Navigation application doesn’t run on Linux which is the OS mainly offered on this product. I installed Windows live mail(Works Great) and My Navigation program also works great with GPS input. I am very satisfied with this purchase as it consumes low power and has no moving parts which is great for use on a sailboat.
I’d like to thank the vendor who was very responsive and delivered the product as advertised

i have a white 901 which i must say is a lot nicer then the 1000`s there just a bit to big.

but if i didnt have a 901 i would have to have a 1000 so it must be good.

also anyone thinking about buying an acer one should look at all the eee forums and all the online help you buy into with the eee.

I seem to have quite a few laptops and I only started with one. This is a really neat device and reminds me more of my MacBook than my Wintel machines. The software included is really useful and the icons are so clear – there are some very clever utilities, though Learning Chinese is not one of them !

I am not using this machine for anything more than a travelling WiFi station, but I can see it could do so much more. I wanted SSD for low energy consumption and have a separate HDD for extra capacity. I think this particular Linux 40GB SSD machine is the bee’s knees and really a fantastic piece of portable computing – when I think back to the early CompaQ and the Grid. . . now this ! Wow ! It is really a smooth piece of kit and I would never buy a Windows version – this Linux machine is simply the next best thing to my MacBook

Very good purchase. I use this all the time. Linux is better than Windows for the low spec of the system. BBC i player is okay – just. However, benefits are that you can use this online in the kitchen or around someone else’s house easily. Good to stick in a bike pannier.

What a fabulous little machine. It’s got it all – it is very fast, got great battery life, runs a proper operating system (not that stupid Windoze rubbish), and fits neatly into my briefcase. Many of my work colleagues have seen this machine, and all that have seen it have gone and bought them for themselves!

The only two minor downsides – it’s a bit pricey for a sub-notebook, and I would like a bigger SSD – but it really can’t be beaten at the price.
