Works with Windows and Linux. Works with Samsung NC10 Asus EEE PC , Macbook Air , Acer Aspire One and any other netbooks / laptops”
As in the title really, what you see is what you get and it does everything it should. Very impressed and you don’t have to undo the whole laptop to use it just plug it into power and usb.

I could not get this drive to read any CDs or DVDs I tried in it. I tried many different discs including commercially produced audio CDs and DVD films, and my own data CDs. My Asus Eee netbook recognised the drive but all the discs appeared to be blank. The drive would try to access the disc several times but then stop. My other brand of external usb DVD drive works fine on my Asus.
I returned the drive to Qubz and asked for a replacement but they left a phone message to say that it worked fine when they tested it and they refunded my money instead. I don’t know how they made it work, I’ve been an electronics and I. T support technician for 30 years and I couldn’t get it to read anything. Maybe a bad connection inside somewhere is now working due to a jolt in transit. . . who knows?
Anyway, thanks to Qubz for a prompt refund, I can’t fault that, but the drive didn’t work for me so I can only give it one star.
Update: I have now got the Liteon ETDU108-02 drive instead which worked straight out of the box and only needs one USB conection instead of the two required by the Qubz drive. It reads all the discs which failed in the Qubz drive.
Having now had both these drives to compare, I prefer the Liteon drive which is more convenient to use because it has a flip top lid, the tray loading on the Qubz drive felt flimsy.
